Adolescent Treatment

When To Get Braces?

Between the ages of 11 and 15 is the most common time for orthodontic treatment, and for good reasons. By 12, most if not all of the permanent teeth have erupted and are in place, and crooked teeth, gaps and bad bites can be detected. These problems will not typically correct themselves, so this is when most parents decide to seek orthodontic treatment.

This time in the child’s life represents some of the fastest rate of growth, and as orthodontic professionals, we can utilize this growth to help correct problems.  Once we reach adulthood, it can be much more difficult to correct growth or skeletal-related problems!
